Bringing it to life

What if you can't make it to the gym? Or the track? Or you are at work? But you still want to get moving...
-
Quick Fit allows the user to perform a quick workout with the resources at their disposal.
-
The application here is allowing the user to make the best of their time and still reach their fitness goals; ultimately avoiding guilt.
Rest days are just as important. But there are always days, YOU JUST CAN'T make it.

Defining user's goals
-
Users can personalize how their fitness journey to look like by choosing their own fitness goals.
-
The application keeps the fitness formulas simple.
-
User's are notified about their upcoming workout. They are given the option to be motivated if they do not feel like attending one.
-
The application does all it can to ensure that the user makes it to their workout.
-
The Motivation aspect intrinsically motivates the user by showcasing their own accomplishments via a video and cards. This eliminates toxic comparison.
-
Rest days are crucial for workouts.
-
Fitness applications do not account for these days and some times users are not aware of the same.
-
Work, menstrual cycles, illness, all can come in the way of a routine. A rest day always users to recover. But! The application keeps a track of the days used and doesn't allow them to get out of hand by abusing the Rest Day System.

Problem
The fitness industry has overcomplicated health and wellness, driven mainly by profitability. Unrealistic expectations and overwhelming metrics, like "run 10,000 steps" or "bench press two plates," only add to the confusion and discourage genuine progress. Each of our lives look different. Not everyone can spend 1-2 hours in the gym a day. We have jobs. But we still want to remain fit!
Insight
Everyone’s fitness journey is unique! Understanding this makes it simpler and more enjoyable. A successful fitness journey should be simple, enjoyable, sustainable, and rewarding. Focusing on key principles: weight change hinges on calorie balance, muscle gain
depends on protein intake.

Staying Motivated
This is one of the most challenging aspects of a fitness journey. What might be the best way to keep a user motivated in staying healthy?

Solution
An application that focuses on the user's personalized fitness journey, eliminating overly complicated elements, and intrinsically motivating them to stay on track.

What do users have to say?
"There is a different level of guilt involved when I am missing chest day because I have a big exam tomorrow."
"Since I got into gyming my Instagram feed is just gym bros flexing these massive gains. Of Course I want to look like that one day, but I want it fast! I feel I am falling behind."
"I am Suuuppperrr lost in the gym. Diet? Hah! Some say eat 0.7 times protein your body weight; some say eat 2 times your body weight.
The confusion annoys me."
"10000 Steps everyday? So... When do I rest?"
Goals Defined

Motivating user intrinsically. This removes negative connotations around competition. "You are your own competition".

Personalizing a fitness journey. "Everyone's journey looks different. Hence, cookie cutter templates never work".

Simplifying fitness application experiences. "Numbers; 10000 Steps, 200 Burpees. Let's get rid of all the Fluff. Users need to rest".

Design System

Key takeaways
-
My aim in this project was to ensure that everyone reaches the fitness goals they have set for them. Not the one's they are fed by others or social media.
-
It interesting to gather information about how individuals look at their own fitness journeys.
-
The factors that influence one's journey has a lot more impact than I initially imagined. These factors are mainly external.
-
It is critical to understand that everyone's life is different, and one size fits all doesn't work when it comes to the body.
Process and Testing
Focused on the following aspects of the application which will better the user's journey:
-
Personalization: How can the application allow the user to make the best of their time in their schedule.
-
Motivation: A list of their OWN accomplishments to intrinsically motivate them.
-
Rest: Rest days scheduled into one's workout.

Users:
-
Found that there so many aspects of fitness applications they do not need.
-
Did not even bother to check the calories they have burnt (Because it is ALWAYS inaccurate).
-
Loved the option of having rest days.
-
Felt a sense of pride to see their own accomplishments.
Low-Fi Wireframes

The low fidelity wireframes demonstrate the capabilities the application will have. The application will allow user to create a custom and personalized plan for themselves, account for rest and sick days, have a clean dashboard to showcase their progress, motivate them when needed and when the user is short on time, a QUICK FIT section to account for fitness during time crunches.
